Instead Of A Remake, "Time And Again" Should Be Made

It's a novel by Jack Finney which uses the same self hypnosis method of time travel from a building that had stood on the same spot since 1882.
Richard Matheson borrowed this element from Finney and also inserted a minor but key character named Finney into the story. In addition to a time travel love story, there is an attempt to solve an old mystery and a plan by the government to change the present by tampering with the past.

I just bought this book along with the Richard Mathison version of Somewhere in Time. I heard it's absolutely wonderful and look forward to getting to read it.

A few years ago, it was reported that Lionsgate (film company) acquired the rights to adapt the book to a movie. And prior to that Robert Redford held those rights. When and if they do make this movie, I wish they use relative unknown actors, and have it scored by someone like Ennio Morricone or Vangelis, since the great John Barry passed away. Or they should just use John Barry SIT score. The director of SIT Jeannot Szwarc still directs, so would be interesting if they got him.

I'm of the opinion nobody can improve upon the 1980 movie SIT, as far as a remake goes........all downhill from there IMO. So no reason to do a remake IMO.
