The Shining TV Series From JJ Abrams In Development for HBO Max

The series will be called Overlook. From the article, it seems like it is going to be about the hotel and its evil history, not a re-do of The Shining. Probably just as well. The Kubrick movie is the definitive version of the Jack and Danny Torrance story. While the Kubrick movie was incredible, the 90s miniseries was horrible and deservedly forgotten. If they redid the original story today, it would probably be bad too, but in an 'edgy and gritty' way. Maybe this will be a fresh take on the background material.

Every episode will end with a stupid secret-revealing cliffhanger that will be revealed in the next episode. However, when the next episode airs, the cliffhanger is never shown and we never find out how that cliffhanger was gonna come out to be. Every episode has no plot and is only made to set up hype for the next episode, which will deliver none of its hype when it airs.
