I was there!

I would just like to say that I was at the outdoor concert that is included in the film! It was a Rock Against Racism gig in Victoria Park in London (England) in the summer of 1978 (I think!). We (some mates and I) went down on a coach from Norfolk. Also appearing were Steel Pulse (a reggae band) and the Tom Robinson Band (Tom was openly gay), as well as some politicians givin speeches. I also saw the Clash at the de Montfort Hall in Leicester two or three years later.

Happy days..........

Me too!

X-Ray Spex and Patrik Fitzgerald also played (Patrik shamefully got bottled off). And reggae band Steele Pulse from Birmingham. And the Tom Robinson Band.

A marvellous day, and the best Clash performance I ever saw. Their best song on the day "Complete Control" isn't even in the film. Hopefully it'll get released elsewhere some day.

If everyone who was there posts this is going to be a long thread...

Man, wish I'd been there! X-Ray Spex rule!

"Complete Control" is in the film, but only the last part of it played at an indoor gig somewhere. It's a shame, it's my favourite Clash song!!!

You are to of the luckiest people ever. I was really hoping to at least get to see Joe Strummer solo, but due to hi suntimley death, that is now impossible. Viva Joe Strummer!!!!!

Did you know they had to redub Jimmy Pursey's vocals on White Riot because he sounded so bad.
