Blu Ray Audio Commentary (spoilers)

I watched the commentary today and thought I didn't hear them correctly upon their first mention of Kim being one of the kids responsible for Robin's death. The notion that Kim was involved makes no sense at all in terms of the screenplay and the close relationship Alex and Kim shared. One of the filmmakers kept yelling, "That's her! That's her!" for no reason, as the actress who played Young Wendy was making the others swear not to tell what they had done... How odd that he would assume Wendy was Kim in that situation!?! With that logic, Wendy would be a superfluous character. And who the hell did he think was walking home from school with Robin and Alex?

Even more frustrating to me was the fact that it was incredibly obvious (to me, anyway) that the girl who played Young Kim was cast in the role because of her remarkable likeness to Jamie Lee. I would've liked to have heard the filmmakers comment on how they found a girl who looked so much like her, or if Jamie Lee had ever commented on the resemblance.

There were a few interesting pieces of information on the commentary. But listening to those pompous commentators interrupt each other, speak over each other, incorrectly correct each other and repeat themselves over and over ("Dan Curtis was a fabulous man!") made the commentary fairly tedious, IMO... Oh well, at least we finally have a beautiful HD print of the film to enjoy.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught this glaring error in the commentary. I do believe it was the moderator who implied in the beginning that the character of young Wendy was, in fact, young Kim. His mistake - and the writer and director just sort of confusedly went along with it. After a couple of other comments made by the moderator regarding this theme - he had the writer and director believing it themselves by the end of the track. Had me shaking my head the whole way through as the moderator was obviously much more interested in the beautiful girls in the cast, than the story and plot itself, and had probably never paid any attention to them. I wouldn't call him a fan of this film, just the young ladies in the cast

I liked the commentary overall and think Paul Lynch seems like a really great guy, but the moderator was a complete twit. I don't know why Lynch or the writer never corrected him and just went along with it, unless they seriously just don't remember. At the end, the moderator again was like "and Jamie Lee is the one responsible for all of this, she made them all shut up... and she killed both of her siblings." WTF? Embarrassing. Not to mention his constant talking about how hot all the girls were. I think the commentary would have been five times better without the guy.

I've listened to bits. For a Blu-ray release which may be the best rerelease of a film ever, especially for the remaster, the commentary may be the worst ever recorded! It's unlistenable!
