I found a plot hole

When Popeye is swimming towards the island trying to save Olive Oil and Sweet Pea, he uses his cigar pipe to be able to see while underwater like a submarine. That is impossible. Who was the director trying to fool?

You do understand this movie is based on a cartoon and using cartoon logic not real physics, don't you?

I am not aware of a cartoon but will check it out. I did eat spinach after seeing this movie but I didn't feel any stronger, so thats another plot hole I found
