Underrated Classic.
Just saw it again on HDNET and it was even better than I remembered. I enjoyed all of the music numbers. The only part that disappointed was the final showdown between Popeye and Bluto.
shareClassic?, that may be an overstatement. Underrated? Absolutely. At least on IMDB. I'll never understand the hate for this movie. It's really a lovely, whimsical tale. It far exceeds the hate it receives here. However, mob mentality will always cause people to pile on with the most popular opinion at the moment.

shareI really enjoyed it. Just caught it on Netflix. Now I want to see the old cartoons again. Shelley Duvall was a perfect Olive Oyl to the point where I wonder if someone else could have done it.
The only thing I wonder is where was the credit for David Lynch? He must have had a hand in this. (That's a compliment to all who were reponsible for this insanity.)
