What kind of hat is Popeye wearing?

Does anyone know what style hat that is? I have been trying to find one with no luck. I know it is a captain style hat but is also pretty slouchy. Thanks in advance for any help.

It's been referred to a few times as a 'beret with visor'. It's certainly not your traditional captain/sailor hat.

Here's a pic of Robin, and some guy who said it took him almost a year to find the right hat for his Popeye costume.

Thanks a lot for the response and the pics! They helped me get in the right track and I found a similar hat. It's not perfect but it's a close as I could find.

According to the book "The Popeye Story" - the detailed telling of the film's entire production - the costumes and hats for Popeye, Pappy, and Bluto were all naval surplus uniform pieces with some slight modifications. The rips, stains, repairs, and the well-worn look are from being worn in naval service - which is really cool.

The film was made in Malta and the costumers raided all of the surplus shops. Malta ports ships from all over and was witness to heavy action in WW 2, so it is hard to tell what country/nation or time era these caps come from. I imagine when these visor caps were new, the inside had a wire to keep the material stiff. With the wire removed, the material then relaxes. I've tried to replicate the cap many times but can't, but I will eventually if I have to do it by scratch.
