Coincidentally on Location.

I had an interesting little experience the first time I saw this moive...
It really is nothing more than a huge coincidence, but I thought it was slightly relevant and a tad amusing.

About eight years ago...I was 19, and living with my boyfriend at the time. One day we found ourselves at the "Nyack Motor Lodge"....and it's not as if we spend a lot of time at motels/hotels...we just happened to be invited there for a small gathering of sorts...and/or to visit a friend.

Immediately following our departure we stopped by the dollar video store that was across the street from our apartment; we were on an obscure film kick and we chose this film under the title 'The Gates of Hell'.
Now, I hope I am not ripped apart by enthusiasts, but I had never heard of the film before at the time, and he didn't know much of anything about anything...so this was a completely random selection for both of us.

The movie itself is pretty bad, as I have further explored Italian Giallo/horror genre. All in all though, as bad as some of the aspects might be...it is still plenty unsettling and some of the gory parts are difficult to stomach.

However, to this very day I chuckle at how I lept up in the air when they showed a secene where the camera pans out revealing a sign for the 'Nyack Motor Lodge'...The fact that we'd been there earlier in the afternoon was hilarious and creepy.

I realize stuff like that happens, but it's not as if we're talking about a landmark like times Sqaure or something.
