So what would you do? (spoilers)

I know loads of people have mentioned this already but its just too bizarre. So...

There's been a string of terrible murders in your town. The general opinion is that the local weirdo is responsible. So, when you find him sitting in your car talking to your daughter you are angry and concerned. You manage to capture him (he doesn't put up much of a fight). But what do you do?

Do you....
a)keep him there and call the police, they're certainly looking for him?
or
b)slowly (very slowly) drive a large electric drill right through his head? You know. Just to be sure.

And no one ever mentions it again. (Admittedly this is possibly due to an outbreak of the living dead).
