I read that this morning. I'm not thrilled. Wish they'd stop with the remakes.
shareI completely agree with you Moonstone55, Over the past 10-12 years they have done a'lot of classic remakes- But recently ones like Robocop, Karate Kid, Red Dawn, Footloose, Poltergeist, Nightmare on elm street, Fame, Point Break,
Then they made 2 films from that 80's TV show:21 jump street etc
I heard the other week they want to do a remake of the TV shows A-Team + MacGyver-Why who the *beep* knows why????
I'm all for Prequels or sequels for some things but remakes of classic films + Tv shows just leave the hell alone
Where you from?
Oh come on, this is simply NOT a movie that can be redone in the modern time, it was a film for its era, and even though it didn't do well for its time, it DID work for its era, it was everything it was the music and the scenery and Chevy Chase, let's be real, you can't get somebody to do the role better than him, and his canine perversions were cute and subtle, not how they'd do it at ALL in a remake and we all know it.
shareOf course it can be done in this era, There is a new film coming out with Jennifer Garner and Kevin Spacey that does voice of a cat called: Nine Lives which is same premise except now a Cat
So formula still works, And I don't see this is a complete 80's film, I would say half and half as some of it was filmed in the 70's in 79
