I thought his performance was pretty poor. However, his part wasn't that demanding.

Yeah, his role was basically a cameo,but it was good for what it was.If you want to see him in an even funnier cameo,watch The Naked Gun.

Okay. I will seek that out. I always find that Houseman is very underused. He had a small appearance in The Fog, however was given a starring type credit. I think his part in The Fog was very cool though.
