DVD

My, my, my, oh my... it's actually coming out on DVD. What a delightful little surprise. Too bad its score was never released...

Yep, just picked it up on DVD. Haven't seen it in ages. Now if only some of the other obscure movies from back in the day would finally be released on DVD.

Hi - The soundtrack is included on the DVD under 'Special Features' - not in full-stereo but beggars can't be...

I'm a UK resident but I got it on Region 1 anyway 'cause I got a multi-region player. That DVD definitely has the complete soundtrack on it; it's great. BTW, it seems the soundtrack WAS originally released (on vinyl, of course) back in the day- the DVD has some pictures of it- though trying to track that down is next to impossible.

Interestingly, the BA Robertson number (Sucker For Your Love) is slightly different on the soundtrack- a couple of different words in the lyrics and a slightly different vocal treatment. Nonetheless, it's just as great. Oh, and there appears to be a very slight difference in the title track by The Viewers (Monsters Rule OK) but so slight you probably wouldn't even notice.

PS

If you do go for the Region 1 release, you won't be disappointed; it's a good disc. Only recommendation is not to listen to the commentary soundtrack, which is done by two idiot "critics" who say banal things through some of the best parts of the film and sound incredibly like Beavis and Butthead, complete with adolescent sniggering and mentions of "hooters" and "boobies" and other puerile rubbish. They also don't seem to know a great deal about certain parts of the film, information which can be found all over the place.

Saw "Monsters" as a recommendation. Wondering if "Journey into Midnight has a chance of DVD or VHS release?

"To be is to do" -Socrates; "To do is to be" -Sartre; "Do be do be do"-Sinatra-
