Best DVD release is STILL available

As of the time of writing this message, Pathfinder Pictures (www.pathfinderpictures.com) is still listing this title for sale.

If you're interested in getting The Monster Club on DVD, I implore you to buy this version instead of the recent European release. The new release contains no extras and the quality of the transfer is apparently no better, whereas Pathfinder's version contains loads of extras (unfortunately, including a terrible audio commentary) and even has all the songs specially re-recorded as stand-alone tracks which are just made for MP3'ing.

I was told that Pathfinder's release was R1 encoded, but I bought it and it plays fine on my standard R2 player which doesn't seem to want to play any other R1 discs, so although I can't be 100% sure, I am guessing that it isn't actually region-encoded at all. (Incidentally, if anyone can point me in the direction of some software that will detect region-encoding on a DVD, then please do and I will confirm it). There is certainly no region-specific indication on either the package artwork nor on the disc artwork. In any event, maybe an email to Pathfinder will find out the truth.
