Lucie looking directly into the camera, etc.
Did anyone else notice that Lucie looked directly into the camera at least 4 times? WTH? An example of how ghastly this film was directed, edited, cast, photographed, acted, etc...
this is by far one of the WORST major motion pictures ever produced by Hollywood. Not only is it completely unbelievable, but the story flip flops (in one scene, Neil Diamond is married to the jewish woman, and in the next scene they are living together "in sin.") Secondly, even in 1980, no music producer would invest in a 39 year old new-to-the-scene pop star who looked like ND.
And WTH is with the casting of the marginally talented/attractive Lucie Arnaz? Clearly, this was a favor to her mother, as the notes also indicate that LA didn't even have a screen test. I mean of all the gentile actresses in Hollywood back in '80, who would be far more interesting on film: Cybil Shepard, Sissy Spacek, Sally Fields---even someone like Cheryl Ladd or Suzanne Summers for lord's sake!? But Lucie Arnaz, who can't help looking directly into the camera lens on several occasions, has no star quality or sex appeal...
A dreadful, embarrassing film.
