Why did he get down and look at the train set?

Anybody?

Behind every man stands a woman, and behind her is his wife!

That may have been an inside joke. From what i can remember reading or seeing somewhere, the antique toys that are shown on the shelf of his house in the film actually belonged to McQueen. I am guessing the train set also belonged to him in real life.

If you remember the first time his pregnant girlfriend is shown, he gave her a present of a vintage toy Buck Rodgers space ship. It was really for the baby. Apparently he was interested in the train because his character liked toys.

and obviously it was a foreshadowing of what would happen later in the film

He was a fanatical toy collector. How could you miss that?

"I'll book you. I'll book you on something. I'll find something in the book to book you on."

He blew the whistle to alert the perp that someone was in the house.

This, at least this is how I always took it. He was blowing the whistle and looking upwards

reply

Because the shot upward from floor-level made him look like a god? That or he just likes trains.
