Who else thinks PHIL is a total drip?? SPOILERS

Okay. At the beginning we find out that Amy's husband to be Phil is going on a bachelor trip with his buddies and a bunch of "girls".
So he is going to cheat on Amy, (sure they're not married but they're in a relationship and he's not telling her he's going to have a bonking session).
We also find out that he wants Amy to be a wife and quit school and drop any career aspirations.

Meanwhile Phil goes the route of the Killer in the movie and feels jilted that Amy ends up marrying the guy who she really loves and also who is there for her when the Killer attacks.

We know nothing of why the psycho kills his ex fiance. But Phil is just a jerk and has no right to get upset and become the new bride killer.
Of course from what we learn about Phil he probably though he owned Amy anyways and could do anything he wanted when she dropped him.

Anyone else agree Phil is a GRADE A A-HOLE???

Yeah true, but Phil's younger brother is an even bigger a$$hole than he is

Amy's sister knows him well. 

I actually think the part with Phil is one of the weaker moments of the film. I think what he was actually doing up there on his bachelor trip should have been made more clear. Everything is just hinted at and it abruptly ends.

Conquer your fear, and I promise you, you will conquer death.

I think it was made pretty obvious what Phil was doing up there. When he tries to call her his shirt is off, he's drinking a beer and you clearly hear girls and guys carrying on in the background. It does seem like he feels guilty about it which makes his actions at the end more understandable.

Phil's faults, if accurate, are explained through exposition or whatever little screen time the character is given. He's really only there so Amy could decided to go back with Marvin, and probably set up a possible sequel with Phil as the new killer.

Yes, he is. He's a creep who thinks he can do anything he wants but expects that Amy is going to sit around and wait for his call, even though she still has a life of her own to live. You know, freedom for me but not for thee. That attitude extends to his killing Amy at the end because he can mess around with other women but God forbid Amy decides to follow her heart and marry the man she really loves. Some guys are like Phil and the killer: they can't stand being dumped, so they murder the dumper.

I love how James Carrolls (Phil) time spent in slasher films he plays a cheater. Lol.
