Blu-ray Review

Watched it tonight, and that video score is right on the nose -- good, but not great. Adrian Lyne's movies have that 'natural light' kind of look to them (regardless of the DoP), so they're rarely razor sharp.
I enjoyed the movie, by the way...hadn't seen it before tonight. Gonna listen to the commentary tomorrow.
Hey, did you listen to the commentary? I haven't gotten the Blu-Ray yet, but intend to. I love talkative commentaries and wondered if this is a good one. I just wish one of the core cast had been invited.
shareI was a little disappointed with it. There's too much dead silence, and he's not the most enthusiastic guy (kinda like Alan Parker, who sounds almost bored doing a commentary).
Maybe a big fan of the movie would find it more enjoyable. You learn a little about the actors and how he got the look of the film, but I found it pretty dull. The best recent commentaries I've listened to are Kevin Smith on Tusk, and the Gilroy brothers on Nightcrawler -- now those are talkative commentaries.
Best one ever, though, is Richard Linklater's for Dazed and Confused. He's incredibly funny and he remembers most of the details of shooting it like it was yesterday.
