What is the make & year of the pickup truck Jodie Foster drives?

reply

It is a late 50's ford, '58 or '59 as a guess on the year

It's a 1957 Ford with a styleside box, and the moderately rare wraparound back window. That style of hood and the front fenders with round signal lights was used in 1957 and 1958; the grille with two headlights was unique to 1957. (If anyone has an extra grille or parts like the "eyebrows" in good condition, send me a private message.)

I don't have the answer to your question but I just wanted to say that I thought the steering wheel looked enormus (or was Jodie Foster just a tiny thing?).

The steering wheels are pretty big on those trucks; they didn't have power steering, so a bigger wheel gives more leverage. Parking one of these trucks in a tight parking space is a workout, especially if it has wider than stock tires.

I dated my wife when we were in high school, and she had a '69 Dodge that had been her grandfather's(I graduated in 1988). The thing had NO power anything, but God it was fun to drive. I had forgotten how big those steering wheels were. I came on here specifically to get details on this particular truck. I love it. Glad some other people were poking around, too.

I thought this too. My father had an old John Deere tractor and the steering wheel was that size, but I wasn't aware a car or truck had steering wheels that largely round.
