I love Jodie Foster. She is a great actress, and I've enjoyed just about everything she has done (where are you, Jodie?). But this movie seriously belongs to Cherie Currie who portrays Annie. She really electrifies the screen, and you just can't wait until the next scene she appears in. Cherie should've been allowed to do more great roles!
I disagree. I think it's obvious from editing that the director must have had Currie re-do takes over and over and over again. She wasn't any kind of decent actress.
No I haven't. I do have an autographed copy of her book, some posters, her solo albums, and some Runaways concert footage. I have talked to her on her website and she is nice. A friend of mine is a memorabilia collector and has met her and hung out with her and actually owns the suede jacket she wears in Edgeplay. He is good friends with Sandy West as well.

They are all fantastic actresses in this. I do happen to really admire the way Currie plays the part, esp. when I think how the part almost went to Rosanna Arquette (and before her, Kristy McNichol) !!!
I don't think the movie "belongs" to any one of these young ladies, they all shine.
I do agree that Currie is breath-taking. Any one who has seen her recently would have to agree she just blows anyone nearby away ! She is just so damn good looking, poised, and articulate.
Kristy McNichol as good as she is would've been miscast in this movie. She comes across as way too level headed and mature to play a troubled party girl. If anything she could've played Jodie's character.
I agree Curie was good in this film. Don't know if it was easy because she was basically playing herself (like Madonna in Desperately Seeking...) nor her range as an actress but it's a pity she wasn't in more films.
yeah, it was cherrie's movie. She was great in this movie. It was so sad at the end when she died. I thought she was gonna make it in the hospital. Sad ending though.
I just saw the movie and I just don't see how it is Cherie's movie at all. Maybe you're only saying that because she was the most tragic and troubled character but to me in terms of performances it was Foster's movie all the way. She made the other girls look like amatuers. Ofcourse she is my favorite actress so you could argue I'm a little biased but I really do think it was all her film. That girl just provided the character that drove everything into tragedy. Foster's performance was most memorable and honest. That fight with her mother was just wow. Some of her best acting. The girl can act.
I agree about Jodie but Cherie Currie took my breath away. I was haunted by this film for years after seeing her performance and Jeannie's final acceptance that someone had died so young.
Cherie is THE STAR. Her acting is crazy good, and not a nano second of bs in that performance. She is a real star, and its a shame she didn't parlay this film into a huge career…Watch her in comparison to the other girls--u can compare. Cherie is the real deal.
I agree but like someone else has already said, don't know her range as an actress. She was basically playing herself (a la Madonna in Desperately...) and look at what happened to Madonna's movie career. Perhaps, it was smart in Curie's part to just do "Foxes" and leave on a high note.
