New DVD release?

Any word anywhere on whether or not they are going to make a new DVD release with director's commentary? The "Tango" bootleg kinda sucks as we all know, what with the audio drop-outs and complete bare bones setup. How much would it have cost them to get Glickenhaus or Ginty to do a commentary (or both??)?

Or get some critic to do an analysis like Richard Schickel did for the new "Sudden Impact" release?

I see how much Tango version sucks. I bought it at a supermarket today for $2.99 ! No special features or nothing. It's cool I did get the movie though. However I saw several copies on sale on Amazon.com. Not sure if it is a new release or the old Tango version. It won't hurt to look

Ok, I looked.

Amazon.com sells two versions of Exterminator. They are both, however, exactly the same.

This one is the Anchor Bay Release from 1998:

Right now they are selling 9 "used" copies for around $13.00 and "new" ones for over $60!

The 2005 version by "Tango Entertainment" is just a copy of the Anchor Bay release. There is nothing new to it and the print looks exactly the same. You can get a new version here:

http://www.amazon.com/Exterminator-Robert-Christopher-George-Samantha/dp/B000BKLB52/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1241454990&sr=1-1

for $17.99.

Until we get a "proper" release for this film we are stuck with essentially the same version.

I think the VHS version that came in the early 90s had a liner page written by Director Glickenhaus in which he compared his film to much better films like "The Wild Bunch" and the Man with no Name series...a friend of mine has it and it's been years since I saw the cover so I might be a bit off about that. But that's basically the only involvement the director has had with the video release of his film!
