5) VIOLENT CITY
6) MANIAC COP 2
7) VIGILANTE

Wow! I have to admit that I haven't seen some of them. I'll take this list under consideration when I spot some of these. BTW, I didn't care much for the original Man Of Fire. That's why I put the remake on my list instead. And Walking Tall is just an awesome movie!! Even the remake wasn't too bad.

I'm terribly sorry, but I somehow forgot these two:

OPEN SEASON (1974?) (the one with Peter Fonda and John Phillip Law)
and
MS. 45 (1981)(about a killer vigilante mute woman)

both are excellent films.

plus a few Paul Schrader ones - in particular ROLLING THUNDER.

HARD CORE is also pretty decent, though not a "pure" revenge flick.

Mad Max anyone?

reply

Mad Max definately!

What about Falling Down?
I suppose Punisher movies just don't count...?
Many westerns have this theme...
Sons of Katie Elder, Young Guns, etc.
Galaxy Express 999 is a bit of a stretch,
but a really great story of a boy seeking revenge.

Revenge of the Sith?
(Ok, that one was a joke)

reply

I dug MAN ON FIRE (1987). Seeing Joe Pesci's flailing rendition of Johnny B. Goode was worth the price of admission alone!
