Just saw the new Star Wars, and it's total garbage! They RUINED Luke and they RUINED Star Wars! First Luke abandons his friends because a ghost told him to, then he dismisses the ghost's warnings to go save them? Then they retcon his parentage and he LOSES? What happened to writing endings?! The whole Cloud City subplot is just pointless and a SJW excuse to introduce a black character who is in command (also, Leia is a captain now? WTF feminists?!). And don't get me started on Boba Fett. Total letdown after all that buildup.

Overall the whole thing was riddled with poor attempts at humor (even Darth Vader has one-liners TOTALLY KILLING THE MOOD) and huge plot holes. They don't even tell us the Emperor's backstory. Just save your $2.50 and don't even bother!

I don't know. I think it was pretty well received at the time.

However, I think the coolest thing would be to travel back in time, get into a car and drive by the multiplex yelling "DARTH VADER IS LUKE'S FATHER" to a crowd waiting to get in on opening night.

I think what TiaTamaragohomee meant was:
"Your parody rant is not the same as the hate filled bile that modern Star Wars fans pour all over modern Star Wars movies"

Whereas to me it is an excellent illustration of how any film can get the 2019 Disney Star wars scorn treatment.
i.e if Empire Strikes Back was released today the OP's post is exactly the reception it would get.
Because Star Wars "fans" are literally never happy.

They wont be happy until they see a Star Wars film that fills their souls with awesomeness the same way Episode 4 did when they first saw it when they were 7 years old . This , of course , is impossible and will never happen.

...unless they smoke a couple of joints first maybe and learn to chill the fuck out.

TexasJack, it's mainly because he looks cool. But yeah. He seriously is on screen in both Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi maybe 2 minutes at the most. LOL!

His armor and helmet are pretty cool. It was one of the good points of the prequels that they used the same design for the clonetrooper armor and helmet.
