Whenever I complain about my life or I see people complaining about their lives on twitter and such I just say

"If you think your life is bad please just watch the Elephant Man"

I completely agree. And I think to myself, maybe Merrick was the "product" of letting people see that their lives are wonderful, that life is wonderful and that we press and complicate our lives too much. If you get my meaning...

Like most Lynch films, this one definitely stays with you. However, this film stays with you for different reasons than his others.
