Hello
Anyone here?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
thanks for listening
I can still here little Ricky's cries "Mommmmmmyyyyyyyy". What a nasty way to die.
So get this....this is the 1st time Ive ever written something on the internet. I dont mind reading other peoples opinions but I dont have time for the morons who turn everything into a geeky argument. Anyway, my first and possibly last entry will be here...where theres little frikken chance of anyone ever reading it.
I have vivid memories of this movie. I'm an Australian but I didnt realise this was set in Oz until now...how cool! I remember the van falling off the cliff and how I was scared for years when my folks drove anywhere near so much as a sandy curb. And I remember the man teaching little Ricky how to catch a fish (I hope this is the right movie!) and how I wanted to do the same for my kids one day. I've seen hundreds of movies that I just dont remember....this one sticks out.
I'm another who'd buy the DVD in an instant. Would be nice if someone would dig out some deleted scenes, and maybe an interview or 2. Let's go already! Some of us are getting old while we're waiting.

Re;
The final scene where William Holden tells Ricky Schroder " I never told my father I loved him-I couldn`t touch him. Don`t be afraid to show love boy, show it, always show it" always makes me cry.Knowing a little about Holden`s relationship with his own father and his sons makes this scene even more touching.Bill often chose films which had a personal meaning to him and THE EARTHLING is one of his most deeply personal films.A special Thank you to Bill for being so brave as to share a part of yourself with us.
I`m keeping my fingers crossed for an eventual(hopefully soon) DVD release.

Hi folks,
My father is Stephen W. Sharmat, the Executive Producer of this film. I'm so happy to see so many you appreciative of this film and still supporting it. As a result of your posts, I contacted my father and informed him of the sustained interest in the film. I mentioned your suggestions regarding a DVD release along with interviews/commentary etc. He's intrigued but admits that he knows nothing about the process of getting a film released on DVD -- and neither do I. Are any of you familiar with the process? Any bonafide hints would be greatly helpful in getting this idea off the ground.
All the best,
Samuel L. Sharmat
