I'm sure that I'm just confusing this with some other movie after all I first saw The Earthling in the theater when I was 8 but I could swear that the ending has been cut.

Now for some reason I remember Shawn Daley meeting up with someone from the town where he was given the Native American Medicine Bag at the end of the movie.

That's no ending that I ever remember seeing.

Actually that's near the beginning of the movie. IIRC, Shawn and Foley are actually at the same place in the beginning of the movie. I believe that's where Shawn gets the medicine bag, and shows it to Foley later in the movie.
