The film that made me a horror lover
I will NEVER forget this film. I saw it in a theare in my old neighboorhood in Brooklyn (Benson theatre 1980) when I was 9 years old, with my father. The posters made it appear to be a haunted house movie. The movie terrified me, like nothing else EVER did, and turned me into a devoted horror fan. The movie was a bit inappropriate for someone of 9, but I was never scared like that EVER again by a movie. The shots of Donny's mother walking, blew my little mind, and I became fascinated with horror movies. Years later, the film still holds up well. There are so many great things about this film, from the music, the tragic character of Donny, the burnt bodies haunting Donny, and the negative ending. This film brings back memories of my childhood and I oddly enough, this is one of my favorites of all time.
