That disco song
Think it can be found somewhere?
shareI sure as hell hope not :)
shareHa! After seeing this film recently as part of a Grindhouse double-bill, I tracked down the 12" of the disco song - aka "Struck By Boogie Lightning" by L'Ectrique - on eBay, unopened and for only 3 or 4 bucks! This is one obscenely catchy number.
shareHaha, no way!!
Great!
Hey don't suppose I could get an MP3 of that somehow?
shareI've found it on soulseek last week...slighly different version of the one in the movie though, runs about 17 minutes.
shareI bought Late Night Surrender, they only use the backing track in the film, I have that in mp3 format.
shareYou lucky bastards! I would kill to own the songs used in the film. Congrats and cool to see so many people on a Dont Go in the House forum. Never thought id see the day when anyone besides myself expressed an interest in this film. Hell,Tarantino loved it.
shareWhich is probably how most people here heard about it. Sure there are some people who geniuinly find this movie somehow, but I for one definately heard about this through Tarantino. I need this song tho... anyone have the MP3 so send?
shareyeah i got 'boogie lightning' send me your email adress.
shareWhats the name of the song that goes "When we're alone! When we get home!"?
shareI am looking for this tune for ages!
I also remember these words "when we're alone..."
Is this the song "boogie lightning"?
I finally found out:
there are 2 disco songs:
1. Boogie lightning by L'ectrique
2. Late night surrender by Jeree Palmer
(when we're at home when we're alone)
but the movie uses the instrumental verion WITH backing vocals and this version is not featured on the record. :(
Well if anyone searches for "go in the house" on site with the initials TPB they may find the songs.
I found this film myself by scouring market stalls for films, I didn't need to take a lead from someone else.
Alright mate, been after these tracks for ages... is there any chance you could re-seed the torrent, as it seems to be dead.
Thanks in advance
Thank you for identifying those two songs! But there is also a third song, the one that is playing in the first half of the scene at the disco. The lyrics go:
Danc- ing, close, to, you, is, ma- gic
Touch- ing, lett- ing, go...
I love it don't you love it!
This is my favorite song from the movie! What is the title and artist?
My Dad took me to see this when I was a kid, I used to BEG him to take me to every horror movie that came out. As soon as the first girl was naked and chained up, he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the theater.
I've finally gotten to see it 27 years later on DVD.

This is one obscenely catchy number. And herpes is one obscenely catchy disease. With about the same appeal as disco.
Disco songs from DGITH are really cool and memorable, but don't forget about that instrumental rock song (written and performed by Daryl .... i forgot), i mean the scene when Donny is lying on a bed, just before the nightmare sequence. It must be also ultra rare recording.
shareThe instrumental mix of "Late Night Surrender" was released on the B side of the commercial pressing 12" single. The white label promo doesnt have it.
shareYeah that rock song is cool!

shareJust saw this movie again after at least 20 years - and I really need to get that "Late Night Surrender" song, it's so catchy!

"Late Night Surrender" is a great little disco ditty. I think the sleazy disco music is perfectly incorporated into this film. It reminded me of a low-budget version of "The Eyes of Laura Mars," which is heavy on the disco.
shareI can't believe that nobody has wondered why when he started the chick on fire they didn't play "Disco Inferno".
