The part that cracks me up is during the final battle when the kid with the Grenade Launcher appears out of nowhere to blow up the tank.

This movie is great.

Still, I love this film, Chris Walken's performance is riveting.

Watch it again...Tom Berenger was shooting at it with the grenade launcher with no effect, until one of their black mercs hits it with a LAW rocket & it goes ka-boom....

i thought that was silly as well. and it's a shame because there is evidence of research in many aspects of the film. for instance, this was one of the earlier films i've watched that showed details like trigger discipline.
