And, one of her twin girls is named 'Patsy', was that in honor of Patsy Cline, who was Loretta's best friend, and was killed in a plane crash shortly before their birth?
shareAbout Ernest I have no idea but she didn't know Ernest Tubb in person then so if she named him after Tubb, it was the way she named her first son. Never heard it mentioned so Ernest might just have been a name she and Doo liked or a family name for them.
She actually doesn't have a brother named Jack. I think you mean Jay Lee who was really born Willie Lee but called Jack and Jackie as a boy for some reason. If she did name Jack Benny for him in part, it wouldn't be weird for her considering she also has sisters named Betty Ruth and Peggy Sue and daughters named Peggy Jean and Betty Sue. Then "Cissie" is really named Clara Marie which is Loretta's mother's name. I think they were all named after someone. In her first book she said that Jack was the name Doolittle preferred and picked out for a boy when she was expecting Betty Sue though. And she'd wanted Jack Benny because she was a fan of Jack Benny and she was also about sixteen which is an age in which girls usually make bad baby name choices. Her Patsy was definitely named after Patsy Cline, I heard her say so several times.
