NOT a $20M movie - Trivia is wrong!

This was a $10M movie (if that part of the trivia is correct, I don't know). But promotional costs are NEVER included in the production costs of a movie - NEVER.

In fact, the promotional costs are ALWAYS borne by the studio and/or distributors as a totally separate cost from the producer's costs to make the actual movie.

If you ever do see promo costs INCLUDED in a production budget, it's an accounting scam of some kind.

I don't know what kind of scam Allan Carr was trying to promote, or if some overzealous IMDB poster just got it wrong, but it could not be more incorrect.

The bigger issue is that someone would consider $20 million trivial. Even $10 million strikes me as a lot of money, at least in 1980 dollars.

Lots of those "trivia" items are from questionable sources or just plain wrong.

Even I think for the time $10 million was to high. The film was rush released to cash in.

Its that man again!!
