and what do you know, i featured Caligula.
now, we all know from studying Caligula's life he was f#ked up.
but one of the most evil men in history?

I don't think Caligula was the most evil man ever. In fact, the movie is sorta over-the-top in its depiction of Caligula, despite McDowell's brilliant performance (his performance is #4 on my top 10 most amazing performances ever list). After reading up about the real Caligula, I think cdkan makes a good point that he was just f--ked in the head, and not the most evil person. He did some pretty badass things in his lifetime though.

That's actually making excuses you know. I for example had a bit hard childhood and walk around beating random people and humiliating children. I grow up to become a person who is everything about opposite to what the people who were bad to me were.
He was just immoral and inhumane and didn't make excuses that I know of to do what he did. He did what he want because he could.

I wouldn't even say he is the most evil Roman Emperor in history; that award probably goes to Heliogabalus. Caligula was mostly insane.
I liked the way he was portrayed in the I, Claudius series.
Elagabalus wasn't evil by any stretch of the imagination. He was just a transsexual. No more, no less.
