Letting him cheat makes no sense

We all know 'Smells' cheated. The caddy even tells Chevy's character that, and he mentions something about no one liking a tattletale, then adding 'except me, of course'.

But NOTHING comes of it.

Why?

There's a LOT OF MONEY at stake, why wouldn't they stop the game RIGHT THERE and either disqualify 'Smells', or at least penalize him in some way (which would've cost him the game)?

Of course almost nothing about this 'almost movie' makes no sense, especially the 'double or nothing' thing, which would mean that if 'Smells' wins, Rodney's character would have to pay double, and if Rodney's character wins, 'Smells' doesn't have to pay him anything. Why doesn't 'Smells' have his OWN guards at the prestigious golf club to keep out the riff-raff and protect the owner and..

See what I mean? Pretty much nothing makes any sense!

But they could've at least EXPLAINED why the game just goes on, the 'good guys' LET the 'bad guys' team CHEAT, and do nothing about it. WHY?

Why keep it a secret instead of announcing it 'to the world' and make everyone realize what a snaky cheater 'Smells' is, put him to shame, and win the tournament for the 'good guys' (not that there really are any in this 'almost flick')?

WHY? What's the reason?

It's like cops seeing a robbery and then keeping it a secret and then try to catch the robbers for something else. What the heck is the point, when the robbery happened and you are supposed to tell everyone about it so justice can be done?

Sigh.. this 'movie'..
