Geez, Danny must be one great golfer

When he joins the match Smails is up 7-2 and somehow he pulled Ty’s weight and managed to beat the club champion and Smails who was playing considerably better than Ty.

Yes...I really loved Michael O'Keefe's golf swing in the movie (A beautiful "Reverse C" swing...I read an interview with Michael O'Keefe years ago and he talked about that he was always a really good "aper." He could watch someone do something and then imitate what the person did).

A lot of the golf stuff in this movie doesn't make sense in real life...but I think that's part of the movie's charm in a lot of ways. Danny would have had to have won 5 of the 8 holes on the second 9 to be tied going into 18...he probably would have had to make at least 4 birdies (at least...he may have won a hole with a par). That's pro-level golf right there! 😃 Counting his birdie on 18, he had to shoot at least -5 on the 9 holes at a minimum.

His swing was pretty good but he had way to much motion. A swing like that would take years to groove.

Yes...and lower back trouble at some point also! 😃

Still, it was pretty common to see in golf swings back in the day. None other than Jack Nicklaus had a bit of a "Reverse C" in his follow thru...he did OK with it! 😃
