Two questions - music and lifeguard

I've seen this movie a thousand times in the past 35 years, and there have been two things that have always, always bugged me all that time.

First, has anyone ever noticed that when Al turns on the radio in his bag on the golf course and plays Journey's Anyway You Want It, that Steve Perry, who already has a very high voice, sounds like he's been sucking some helium? He sounds sped up, like he's an octave higher. The same thing happens at the dinner, when Al gets the band to play Boogie Wonderland. Once they step outside, it sounds sped up and higher. Is this just bad sound mixing or is there some other explanation?

Second, what is the deal with all that white stuff on the lifeguard's right leg? Yeah, sure, it's probably that white titanium dioxide that you use as an ultrablock sunscreen on your nose, but this guy's got it completely covering his leg. What the hell is that all about?

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.
