DVD Release

They should get this on DVD. As well as the other feature films, too. But here's what I think they should have on each movie on DVD:

- Film fully restored and remastered
- Fully remastered in 5.1 Surround Sound
- Restored Original Mono Soundtrack
- French and Spanish Language Tracks
- English subtitles

- Theatrical Trailers for movie
- Any Peanuts TV Specials that relate to the feature-length movie.
- TV ads for movie
- Commentaries
- Publicity Gallery (Posters, lobby cards, etc.)
- Behind the scenes with the original cast and crew
- A behind the scenes lok at the restoration
- Before/Restored Split Screen comparisons
- And much more!

So there you have it. I hope Paramount Home Entertainment does what I expect for these Charlie Brown Movies to be on DVD for the very first time.

I second that.

"That's no fair! They've got rocks and all we've got is machine guns!"

reply

How about the movie in it's original theatrical format, like widescreen?
I wish Fantasy Records would release a soundtrack to Bon Voyage and Race For Your Life.

IM actually writing to paramount to see if its being released. i loved this movie growing up and it sucks that you cant get one on dvd. id even go for a bootleg if i could find one!! im surprised that this is one of the only charlie browns not on dvd. columbia house has about 15 different dvd's but no one has this one. :-( too bad, so sad. we'll see what paramount says!! scott

reply

While you're at it, write them and see about getting What Have We Learned, Charlie Brown out on DVD too. They really ought to do the two together and sell it as a double set or something.

reply

They should also include "What Have We Learned, Charlie Brown?" on the DVD, since it's basically Bon Voyage Pt II.

reply

Amen to that junk1-6, you have no idea how hard it is to get on video tape. And I know if it got out on DVD I'd go buy 2 or 3 copies, one for me, one for the library, and one for the video store because they only take DVD's now and What have we learned is a very entertaining and educational piece and as been said about This is America, Charlie Brown, it should be included in every grade school and high school history class.

reply

yes I really would like to see this episode again!

reply

I recently got this film on VHS because I have such fond memories of watching it over and over when I was a kid. I wish they'd release it on DVD though!!

this movie is very entertaining
i love all of the peanuts movies and specials : )
and i hope that paramount would give the go ahead to create a series of peanuts tv specials and tv movies to promote the release of these movies
if paramount and warner decided to go ahead with a peanuts bob set
it would have a boy named charlie brown, snoopy come home, race for your life charlie brown, and this movie, bon voyage charlie brown, and they would all be remastered, and have special features included, including bonus specials like for this movie, there would be the "what have we learned charlie brown" special
which is sort of "bon voyage" part 2 ,

I wish this movie would be released by Paramont on DVD, that would be great. Maybe someday

reply

Well, the first two Peanuts movies ("A Boy Named Charlie Brown" and "Snoopy Come Home") were released on DVD last March 28. So I would expect to see "Race For Your Life" and "Bon Voyage" on DVD by the end of March 2007.

If they do release a DVD of this film, which they should, it should include the special What Have We Learned, Charlie Brown? as a bonus feature, since it takes place directly after this movie ends. What do you think? Peace.

The everyday happens every day.
