Is there any real reason why the character is named that? Was the screenwriter a fan of the author? Pretty weird LoL?

yeh,that is strange,what are the odds,anyway i havent seen this movie for a long time,so i forget what happens to"buk",but i hope he suffered a horrible death,cos Bukowski would have liked that.

He got shot by the cops with a shotgun so many times they blew a hole through him, very gory, Bukowski would have loved it :)
