Apocalypse is misleadingly used as a buzzword for this film. It features nothing of the sort.

When the police go in to the sewers they are all wearing face masks so they know full well that there's dangerous build ups of gas in a sewer. Yet they take a *beep* flamethrower with them?!
It was definitely very unapocalyptic - have you just watched it on the Horror Channel?

Yes, saw that. That's what I came here looking for. To see if anyone had mentioned it but it seems to have been cut from all the releases. It was my first time watching and, to be honest, probably my last - ha. Not because of the rat but because it was a bit *beep* I'm trying to watch Midnight Son now (same channel) but so far I'm not impressed - might just be me being knackered.

There is no hypocrisy, just as there's no hypocrisy in having laws against torturing animals while legally permitting their humane slaughter for food etc. They're different situations.

You're right, but I'm sure they were trying to capitalise on Apocalypse Now which was released in 1979 and the Cannibal trend that was in it's prime in 1980, strangely. Who would have thought that cannibal movies were such a commodity at one point in time, ah the late 70's/early 80's.
