Title deserves a definite revisit and remastering. I think there is plenty to say about the film in retrospective interviews on all aspects of production. Maybe with 'The Walker' and 'Adam Resurrected' on the horizon Schrader will get tapped to prepare a new DVD release of this classic in his filmography.
shareit would be great to have interviews of the cast, and maybe they could revisit some of the filming locations, too.
shareI'd just wish for a better video transfer. Yeah, it's an anamorphic one, and we should be grateful, but it's still not a particularly good-looking one. And, hey, I'm all for a special-edition disc, but being that it's a Paramount title I wouldn't hold my breath in light of the majority of their home-video releases that are absent of special features. Hell, they don't even include theatrical trailers! And they still offer too few chapter stops.
sharePerhaps, as its nearing 30 years since its release..we will get a new version in time for then and a dual BLU RAY release??? Its quite a significant film so i dont see why Paramount shouldnt..if they know whats good for them they will!
