Where the Movie Fails/Remake Ideas-Spoilers

This movie should have followed the Jaws movie making formula of not showing much graphic violence. When Jaws ended, moviegoers focused on the many aspects of the shark and the relationships between the human characters, as well as the attacks. With this movie, the graphic violence took viewers away from what the story was supposed to be about. They are only left with the memory of the violence.
My idea for a remake would have the movie basically the same as this one except for not having so much graphic violence and the female scientist sees the giant croc and somehow sees something familiar about it. Having believed her baby crocodile had died, she learns her father lied about it having died. The rest of the movie shows the feelings she goes through as she knows she must aid others in destroying it. In the remake, when the officer opens up the cover, she is sad to see Ramon dead. The ending of another baby croc in the sewer remains or maybe the surprise of the scientist or someone else picking it up to take it where it should belong.
