Why dident he run instead of trying for 5 min getting into the car? the stupidity baffles me in this movie.

Yeah I know, he just sat in the car. He should have gotten out and ran like hell. That's what I'd do if a huge alligator was coming towards me.

Because Slade, the old guy that ran the pharmaceutical company locked him
out and the mayor was probably too scared to run so he got eaten....
