The sound is awful

I'm watching this on cable for the first time. I have to say that the recorded sound, at least as reproduced on my digital cable, is awful. The mics always seem to be placed far away from the people actually talking, and especially in the concrete courtroom it is very hard to understand the speakers because of the ringing of the room. On top of all that, there are those Aussie accents and NO closed captioning! But I'm sticking with it, mate.

It must be some error in the transfer, or a bad copy used. My DVD's sound is fine. And come on our accents aren't so bad!

ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNO-TOAD!

Well, I've been to Australia and New Zealand and like the accents in both places. But being slightly deaf it's a little challenging to catch all the dialog when I'm not face-to-face with the characters (or face-to-caption).

Remember, when the original MAD MAX came to the States, I think they actually re-dubbed all the voices because they knew no Yanks could understand them!

My VHS also has bad sound and in places when they sort of mutter under their breath I can't understand them. But I was so captivated by this movie that I played the blurred parts over and over til I figure out what they are saying! Aussies probably have a hard time understanding what we Yanks are saying, too.

The sound editing was bad from the start, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I've played scenes over and over to found out exactly what was being said. Love this movie.

LCShackley, that's what Closed Captioning is used for: turn it on. You'll be able to follow everything until you learn British and Australian. I must use it always because my son is autistic and he talks during films. Without it I miss a great deal of dialogue.

Something must have been wrong with your cable company's broadcast. The sound and cinematography are outstanding in this film. I hope you get to enjoy it once again another day with better sound. It's worth it.

Bored now.
