Title Zombie 2

Why is this movie titled Zombie 2 when there is no Zombie 1? I saw this movie in a theater in the early 80's and it was just called Zombie. Is there a Zombie 1 out there I don't know about?

Zombie 1 is George Romero's Dawn of the Dead. It was released in Italy as Zombi and this movie is a sequel in name only.

Look at the title. It is Zombi 2 (no 'e') as the origional italian title, and Zombie (With an 'e') for the western title.

As said before, the #2 title was an attempt to look like a sequel to a different movie.
