Did anyone even notice? ...........

Right after Connors leaves Jones by the truck with the shotgun that the same sound and music from the ending to "The Howling" played complete with the howling sound Dee Wallace made at the news set before being shot? I mean its the same sound and music being played was also the same. They just re-used that scene's sound effects and music. So cool how they just inserted that into the movie.

I don't know a lot about anything but I know a little about practically everything

Pino Donaggio composed the scores for both films as well as Carrie and Dressed to kill. There are similarities among all of them, but the one in Tourist Trap is particularly haunting.

In your mouth, dear. Put the gun in your mouth.

I noticed also that when the first girl dies, the music is quite similar to Schmoeller's 1989 film "Puppet Master", but Richard Band scored that film. Guess he was "inspired" by this film's soundtrack. :-)

In the UK Blu Ray release from 88 Films, in the bonus documentary Schmoeller explains how they had to use stock SFX from MGM because they couldn't afford their own sound guy. So apparently the gun shots from the historical mannequins were the same gun shots used in Gone With The Wind. Perhaps The Howling and Tourist Trap just ended up borrowing from the same library.
