Moving restaurant in San Francisco?

Which restaurant was/is this? It seemed to move in a circle, kind of like the Space Needle in Seattle is supposed to to?

Thanks

Nope. It's the "Equinox", or so it was named when I was a kid in S.F. in the 70's. It's located in the Hyatt Regency near the Embarcadero (ironically where several other scenes of the film were shot). It's not a very tall building, but there's not much around to obstruct the view.

I went to this 'bar' in 82 after the S.F. 49'er's won their first Super Bowl against Cinn. Bengal's. It was a trip, and if you put your drink on the window sill, you had to chase it down because it rotates the opposite way, and a tonnage of mirror's inside that also messed with perspective. I don't know what it's called now, we just called it the Bar at The Hyatt.

Thats it thought I dont think the restaurant is called that anymore. Its right by the water off of Market street by the Embarcadero Center.

Yes, the Equinox is (or was) the name of the rotating restaurant at the top of the Hyatt Regency. I was there in 1979, a few months before I saw the movie. I had taken a commuter flight on PSA Airlines out of San Diego, and came back the same day (it was on Mother's Day and I had to return to my classes at San Diego State on Monday). I think I ended up paying a $1.50 for a glass of beer, which was a lot back then.

I wish I had taken the time to explore the hotel a lot more, since it was featured in Time After Time, as well as High Anxiety with Mel Brooks.

True. It also doubled as the interior Lobby of the Glass Tower in "The Towering Inferno". (The Bank of America Plaza doubled as the exterior ground entrance.)
