The One Major Flaw in Time Travel Movies Like This....
I love this movie and saw it three times in the theater back in 1979...I even read the novel by Karl Alexander. However, logic is thrown out the window or else there would be no movie. Stevenson escapes in the time machine, which returns to H.G. because he has the key. Instead of following Stevenson into the future, H.G. merely needed to travel back in time to earlier that day before he told Stevenson about the time machine and allow the cops to capture him.
