The Music


God, it was awful.

It seemed like the soundtrack was trying to replicate earlier movies, but it was really distracting to me. It would swell up at time that were not as emotional as dictated by events. Otherwise, it was a pretty good movie.

It was by Miklos Rozsa, who'd been working as a film composer for more than 40 years by this time. Parts of this score are lifted from others throughout his career; watch some of his film noir movies and you get a sense of deja vu for this score. He really phoned in a lot of his later work, including this one.

Actually, it's "retro"feel is just what Director Meyer was after, and I think it works beautifully. As for Rozsa "lifting" from himself, name a composer who doesn't ...
