I was going to ask the same question.
It looks like maybe it's just a new cover, although I didn't see anything specific about special features, etc.

Well there is a HD version of the film because it's showing on HDNet Movies. So perhaps there is an updated master. Even a SD DVD will look a lot better if it is sourced from a new master.

I noticed that the back insert of the 2002 edition states:
"Feature-length commentary by Malcolm McDowell and writer/director Nicholas Meyer"
While the 2008 edition states:
"Feature-length commentary by Malcolm McDowell, David Warner and writer/director Nicholas Meyer"
Can anyone tell me if the commentary track is actually different between the two releases?
Well I've heard the 2002 commentary, and David Warner is not on it. Can anyone confirm if he is on the 2008 version?
