...is Hasselhoff!! If only they'd gotten him to do a commentary/interview about his experience on this film, the DVD would have been elevated to a whole 'nother level of awesome!

The Almighty Hoffster was interviewed in the December, 1978 issue of the science fiction magazine "Starlog" about acting in "Starcrash," which at the time was initially going to be released by American International Pictures under the name "Stella Star." According to said interview, poor Dave contracted food poisoning during the shooting of the film and a production assistant had to fill in for him for a fair share of the scenes in which his character wears a mask. Moreover, His Hoffness did most of his own stunts and roughed up one of the Italian stuntmen by knocking one of the guy's teeth out on his first day doing stunts.

Way cool. I wonder if that little nugget of trivia will turn up in the commentary track on the DVD? The guy who did them (Stephen Romano) seems to know everything there is to know about the making of the movie. Haha.
