interesting insight into the mind of william shatner.

Probably bc it was the first one and he got to work with a film directing legend, Robert Wise

It's the best of the "Star Trek" films. Good choice.

That's a pretty great list, frankly. Whether ego drove him to put TMP on there or not, I think it's a great sci-fi film and I cannot fault its inclusion.

I find Apollo 13's inclusion stranger, since it's not really a sci-fi film.

Also, not a lot of movies post-2000, and that dodges greats like Children of Men and Arrival, but that's not even a "problem," since I can't fault his list as-is. What would I swap for CoM? Alien? ET?

I think a lot of people would put Wrath of Khan in their top ten, so is Shatner a jerk for including a different classic Trek film?

"I find Apollo 13's inclusion stranger, since it's not really a sci-fi film."

It is if the Apollo missions were a hoax. Maybe he subscribes to that theory.

reply

That would be very funny if he thought that.

reply

The Motion Picture isn't even as good as Wrath of Khan or The Undiscovered Country.
