ok I've seen this film about 1000 times but I can't find Darby, when scene's he in? whats he dressed like? blond or dark hair? this is really annoying me now so please someone help.
on an unreleated topic, what would you give to have dee dee playing in your shower!
i just went to see rock n' roll high school in the theater the other night (a 25th anniversary thing), and i kept an eye for darby crash, having just read your post. i believe he is in the concert scene. he's has black hair, jeans, a white button down dress shirt, and i believe, a tie. he's standing near riff for most of the show, so he is visible several times. when the band is playing "blitzkrieg bop," during the first set of hey-ho's, darby is at the very left side of the screen. in fact, if it's the full screen verison, he may be slightly cut off. then during what i think was the line, "forming in a straight line," or just before they cut to a shot of riff and kate dancing, he's seen again standing in the front. hope that helps.
i'm almost positive it's him, if not, i'm sorry. but eh, i tried.
He's also clearly visible when the crowd is chanting "Hey Ho, Let's Go" before the band takes the stage/starts rocking, shaking his fist really unenthusiastically in the air. He looks COMPLETLY stoned.
Is it me or do I also see other Germs alongside him? And yeah he does look quite "out of it". He also score points for promoting the Germs in a Ramones flick, he's wearing the pseudo-Nazi Germs uniform (white shirt, tie and the black armband with the infamous blue Germs "O") Plus if you squint really hard, I think you can see Ian Mackaye in the right side of the screen...
Whoa, whoa, whoa people, I have gotta see it again right now! I never heard about either Darby (or the rest of the Germs) or Ian being there and never saw them...maybe I was paying too much attention to Dee Dee...in my shower...hmm...I would be very freaked out 'cause ya know...he's not "here" anymore......but after like one second of shock, I would be very likely to 'jump his bones' then and there!!!

Darby Crash had a myriad of literary, musical and philosophical influences, which varied from Frederich Nietzsche and David Bowie to Charles Manson and Adolf Hitler.
